12th from 7mp - Battery Banket

Abstruct

Take a look at those two batteries. One is a Potato battery, and very yummy to eat. The other is a consumer 9V/PP3 battery and very yucky. If a human eats it and hates it, he will stay away from industrial batteries that would remind him/her this experience. This helps the Potato battery. Smaller, weaker matters have to imitate the stronger ones to stay alive. If the less powerful natural electric-sources could trick the users, we all just
might survive longer. The workshop invites you to take a look into those issues from the inside of two different battery-sources at the kitchen table. We will be "torturing" an industrial ones, in revenge for a dissected frog on the table of Luigi Galvani, where he has discovered "animal electricity" in the bare nerve of a dissected frog's leg more then 200 years ago. And the other way around - assembling from many sections/cells a spatial organic battery with fluctuating character and galvanic behavior, although without torturing any living organisms.

Daily

Day1) How it works; Organic, alternative and absurd battery-sources; Hands on (low power); Disassembling industrial batteries; Assembling food batteries; Wiring cells; Voltage and current; Raw or cooked.
Day2) What can you power with your food-body battery?; Assembling a simple sound-module based on Hex Inverter IC on a solder-less breadboard to listen and playing with your electrolytic environments; resistance and conductivity of different materials;
Playing with the "battery-noise" sound-wise, or rather mimicking/"designing" an artistic/absurd battery.
Day3) Finishing. The Battery-Banquet!

Participation

Every one who likes to experiment with a battery-"noise" and in a
broader sense. 12 participants maximum.

Remember to bring

-Dead 1.5V-9V batteries
-Different foodstuffs: boiled(!)/raw potato and other hard-tissue vegetables and fruits, drinks
