June 10 - 11 2010, 5PM - 9PM ; 12 - 13 2010, 1PM - 7PM
June 13, 2010, from 7PM - X-position
Organized :: Natalia Borissova/aa-vv.org
Hosted :: Stephan Kallage/West Germany

How to get unbelievable functionality out of the cheap point-and-shoot Canon photo-camera by installing CHDK and scripts onto it. You will be exploring the possibilities and limitations of CHDK while doing fun small projects individually or together; acquire skills necessary to write and debug small programs for the camera; mastering your own remote shutter release, battery packs and other hardware without risking damaging your camera as well as to repairing (seemingly) defective ones; making videos from photographs using free software; compiling programs, and benefiting from the situation where 15 hacked cameras meet together.

ARE YOU CONNECTIVE?
Site-relative interactions workshop
With: Stefanie Wuschitz(artist) + Amir Hassan(coder)
April 20. - 24. 2010, 2 - 7/8/.. PM daily
April 24. 2010, from 7 PM - Public. Come-come
@WEST GERMANY (WG) Skalitzer str.133 10999 Berlin
Organized :: Natalia Borissova/aa-vv.org
Hosted :: Stephan Kallage/West Germany

We will be exploring simple functions and hardware of mobile phones as SMS, blue-tooth, video, in-built photo camera, speakers, vibrator, sensors to generate participatory art project in public space by playing with different ways of connecting the inside of our studio-space with the outside-neighborhood. For those interested we will also look into a programming environment to code little applications for mobile phones called Mobile Processing. These applications can then control in-built sensors or create graphical user interfaces. We would like to emphasize that sharing skills and experiences in joined projects will be of importance in this particular workshop.

ARE YOU CONDUCTIVE?
Hands on, creative workshop & open circuit.
with Stefanie Wuschitz (Vienna)
March 17 - 20, 2010, 2PM - 7PM
March 20, 2010, 7PM - 9PM = 'Welcome to our circuit!' installation
@ WERKSTATT BRIENNER 48, 80333 München
Organized :: Natalia Borissova/aa-vv.org
Hosted :: Hajo Bahner/Werkstatt Brienner

Focusing on uniting sustainable low tech and untypical materials with high tech in a poetic and fluent way, we will be creating changeable patterns, forms and shapes within the electric circuit, experimenting with resistance and conductivity to create hand made switches and analogue sensors from magnetite stones, conductive thread/fabric, graphite, organic and found materials to be joined to a spatial interactive and sensual circuit, consisting of movable parts, connected to the micro controller Arduino.

COOKING BATTERIES - WORKSHOP#1, CRACKLE OFF THE BOX - WORKSHOP#2

COOKING BATTERIES - WORKSHOP & table-installation
CRACKLE OFF THE BOX - WORKSHOP & performance
August 18 - 21, 2010, 11AM - 6PM daily
With: Natalia Borissova Ru/De
@MoKS/Mooste Estonia

COOKING BATTERIES:
Creating recipes from unexpected ingredients to 'cook' batteries; Involving various kind of food and drinks, as well as earth and other to determine how much current and voltage is possible to get with each recipe tried; Wiring batteries in series to increase voltage and in parallel to get more capacity; You might like to design your own (battery-)dish for a table-installation as an artistic outcome.

CRACKLE OFF THE BOX:
How to pull out a wide musical noise-scape from body, food, fruits, vegetables, plants, earth.. while playing (with) them. During the workshop we will build a simple audio amplifier and adapt it's circuit that it turns into a kind of' CrackleBox/Kraakdoos - simple but an expressive touch- and pressure-sensitive instrument. The human body and any conductive matters become a part of an electric circuit (or the other way around) and determine the range of sounds possible. Different people, different materials, different combinations of 'touchpoints' will generate different results. We'll experiment, extend and expand the circuit with food, plants, our bodies and wire it around in space to 'crackle' off the 'box'.

RECONSTRUCTION & MIGRATION

aa-vv is in the process of diy reconstruction (always), migration to Drupal and to the free cultural server called Sanchez.
(apologize for any inconveniences btw... and thanx to Heike Sigert/Markus Arning for the coding-help and Sanchez for this free digital embrace..)
